NEMA Congratulates Members on their 2014 ENERGY STAR Awards.

April 21, 2014 - EPA and Department of Energy honored 7 NEMA member companies with 2014 ENERGY STARŪ Award, which recognizes businesses and organizations for outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through energy efficiency. Recipients included 3M Company; LG Electronics, Inc.; Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.; LG Electronics, Inc.; MaxLite, Phillips Lighting Company; Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.; Technical Consumer Products, Inc.; and Cree, Inc.

ROSSLYN, Va.—The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy honored seven National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) member companies with the 2014 ENERGY STARŪ Award. Businesses and organizations were honored for their outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency at the awards ceremony.

According to NEMA President and CEO Evan R Gaddis, energy efficiency policies should be a central component to any national energy policy.

“Our members are in the energy efficiency business,” he said in congratulating the companies honored. “Electroindustry products are becoming more and more energy efficient and the systems that often manage their use add to energy and cost savings.”

The following NEMA member companies will be honored in these categories:

ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence
3M Company
LG Electronics, Inc. (Product Manufacturer)
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Product Manufacturer)

Cree, Inc.

NEMA is the association of electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers, founded in 1926 and headquartered in Rosslyn, Virginia. Its 400-plus member companies manufacture a diverse set of products including power transmission and distribution equipment, lighting systems, factory automation and control systems, and medical diagnostic imaging systems. Total U.S. shipments for electroindustry products exceed $100 billion annually.
