Milltronics Manufacturing Company will be exhibiting at Eastec in conjunction with its New England based distributor, MECI, Machine & Electrical Consultants, Inc. A large selection of Milltronics machines will be on display and under power in Building 1, Booth 1541.
Among this year's display will be a Milltronics VM15 vertical machining center. This economically priced, small footprint machining center offers huge values in performance and cutting capacity compared to other smaller footprint machines offered in today's marketplace. The 8600 lb massive, heavily ribbed cast iron construction of this machine offers the rigidity and dampening characteristics necessary for high speed and heavy machining.
For flexibility in turning requirements the benefits of the ML18/60 combination lathe cannot be matched. The intuitive teach and one-off mode of this lathe are ideal features for job shops working on prototype parts, repairs and small production runs. Many possible configurations for this machine, from manual to hydraulic chucks, simple manual tool post to an automatic turret, or a live tool turret for simple second operations work, make this the most flexible, user friendly combination turning center that can handle a wide variety of applications.
The RH20 open frame machining center is the mainstay of the machine tool industry. With popular 40" x 20" travels, this open frame, box way design machine offers spindle range and horsepower options to fit the needs of most shops. The open frame design with an optional easily removable table chip guard makes easy work of oversized parts that typically have clearance issues in a traditional fully-enclosed machining center.
No shop is complete without a manual mill tucked in a corner somewhere for smaller, simple processes on parts that have to go out the door quickly. What if that knee mill was a full 3 axis CNC that retains all the manual capabilities for the price of a well equipped manual mill? The VKM3 fits the bill hands down. With the same user-friendly but powerful CNC control used on other Milltronics machines, the VKM3 offers full three axis simultaneous programming and movement while still having the ability to operate the machine manually.
Milltronics will also offer visitors to Eastec a unique opportunity to see the inside of a VM Machining Center and view the construction techniques used to build machines. On display will be a VM30 machining center frame with basic features added to it. This frame has been modified in areas to allow visual inspection inside the castings. It illustrates very dramatically that the heavy ribbing inside and out of these castings, along with the precision ground linear rail mounting surfaces, are the key to the machine's structural integrity. Inspect a cut-away five bearing spindle, true thermal compensation system, inverted rail design, NEMA standard electrical cabinet and many more features that are typically hidden with guarding and way covers. Anyone viewing this display will be intrigued with the design and build processes of these machines.
