Miller to Give Seven Presentations at 2010 AWS Aluminum Welding Conference, Exhibit Advanced Solutions for Conventional and Pulsed GMAW, GTAW

A team of Miller welding engineers and aluminum specialists will share information to improve results in GTAW, semi-automatic GMAW and automated GMAW welding of aluminum at the AWS Aluminum Conference.

Highlights/Key Facts

o Seminars held Sept. 21 and 22 in Seattle.
o Seven sessions provide aluminum welding information, from basics to advanced troubleshooting.
o Miller to exhibit AlumaFeed(TM) Synergic Aluminum Welding System with built-in "Profile Pulse(TM)" technology and Dynasty(TM) AC/DC GTAW solutions.

APPLETON, Wis., Aug. 19 - Aluminum is corrosion resistant, light and has a high strength-to-weight ratio, but challenging to weld because of its physical and chemical properties. A team of Miller welding engineers/aluminum application specialists will deliver a total of seven presentations that can help improve aluminum results at the 13th AWS/AA Aluminum Welding Conference & Exhibition in Seattle on Sept. 21 and 22 at the Doubletree Guest Suites Seattle Airport/Southcenter.

In addition, Miller will exhibit its aluminum welding solutions, including the AlumaFeed(TM) Synergic Aluminum Welding System with built-in "Profile Pulse(TM)" technology and Dynasty(TM) AC/DC GTAW solutions. These systems can help increase quality and productivity while addressing operator training issues.

Quote
"Aluminum requires special processes, techniques and equipment to optimize welding results, so it's a source of many welding frustrations. Miller's AWS Aluminum Conference presentations will provide answers to many common questions, as well as showcase best practices to improve aluminum results."

Anthony (Tony) Anderson, Director of Aluminum Technology for ITW Global Welding Center (located at Miller's Appleton headquarters; Miller is a wholly owned subsidiary of ITW)

Additional Information

Aluminum Solutions
Miller designed the AlumaFeed Synergic Aluminum Welding System for high-volume, high arc-on time industrial aluminum applications requiring conventional GMAW and pulsed GMAW welding outputs. Experienced MIG welders require no learning curve to understand system controls. Designed for simplicity, novice welders can learn to make production-quality GMAW-P welds within hours using the system's synergic control and the Profile Pulse(TM) output.

When GTA welding aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, the Dynasty series' advanced AC arc controls can dramatically increase travel speeds, eliminate inclusions ("tungsten spitting"), eliminate weld flaws related to poor arc starts, permit using smaller diameter electrodes, extend electrode life, provide precise puddle control, mimic traditional arc characteristics, eliminate the need for exotic gas mixes and reduce cycle time defects and rework. Industrial applications include precision metal fabrication, pipe and tube fabrication, aluminum ship repair, aerospace fabrication and repair and anodized aluminum fabrication.
