Ann Arbor, MI - - MichBio Expo track sessions devoted solely to their needs will give Michigan's growing number of medical device manufacturers and manufacturing suppliers critical information for entry into and success in the industry. MichBio is the trade association representing Michigan's biosciences industry, and its Expo is the largest annual gathering of bio-executives in the state. The 2011 Expo is set for Nov. 2-3 at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids.

"The medical device industry is experiencing a lot of change on the regulatory and business fronts," said Stephen Rapundalo, PhD, MichBio president and CEO. "Companies need to stay abreast of the issues if they're to remain competitive."

He noted that because this is such an important and growing market, a special registration price of $125 has been made available for medical device manufacturing suppliers to encourage their participation.

Three sessions on Wednesday, Nov. 2 program will feature expert panelists from Stryker, B Braun, Terumo Cardiovascular Systems, Interplex Medical, Skytron and Becker & Assoc. Consulting. They will provide information and insights on topics ranging from regulations and compliance to quality control and positioning for success as a contract manufacturer.

Medical device sessions on Nov. 3 will focus on the shifting regulatory environment for device manufacturers, new growth opportunity in healthcare for innovative medical technology solutions and reducing product development and engineering risks as products move toward market launch. Speakers represent the Medical Device Manufacturers Assoc., Pfizer, ThermoFisher, the Michigan Small Business & Technology Center, Delphinus Technologies, Esperion Therapeutics, and others.

The Expo includes numerous opportunities for networking with peers and prospects as well as previewing cutting-edge technologies, visiting Grand Rapids-area bioscience facilities and hearing top experts in a variety of sectors. More information and registration is at www.michbio.org/expo.
