Roy Ball, VP Research & Development, USA/Mexico

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - (January 9, 2012) - Mersen, a global leader in the field of electrical protection, has named Roy Ball its VP Research & Development, USA/Mexico. Roy will be responsible for new product research and development and sustaining engineering.

Roy holds a Masters Degree in Business and Manufacturing from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, and a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in International Business from the University of Miami. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Roy comes to Mersen from Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) where he held a number of positions, including operations & quality manager and senior design engineer. In his latest position as engineering manager, he was responsible for the development of protective relaying products and auxiliary devices, and revamped the product development process for ABB.

"At ABB, Roy drove innovation and spurred his team to generate over two dozen patents during a three-year period," stated Daniel Beaudron, Mersen's VP General Manager, Electrical Protection, North America. "Roy's passion for excellence and his strong international experience will serve him well in his new position at Mersen."
