West Caldwell, New Jersey — Designed with precision MicroCell™ louvers and architectural styling for demanding interior designs, MaxLite’s Micro-T™ Lay-In LED Panel won a 2013 Architectural Products magazine Product Innovation Award (PIA). A diverse group of 50 architects, interior designers, lighting designers and veteran industry writers impartially reviewed and selected top architectural-related products that their peers found innovative and worth investigating.
“Architectural Products is a leading magazine for the architectural market and its Product Innovation Awards serve as the gold standards of the industry,” said MaxLite Executive Vice President Thomas Rhee. “This award acknowledges Micro-T as the ultimate in an architectural LED lighting panel, integrating a striking minimalist look and low profile with extremely good output and precision optics that cut glare.”
Micro-T offers the simplicity of a lay-in panel with individual MicroCell LED arrays that deliver higher lumen output than traditional fluorescent troffers, and is designed for new construction or remodeling projects in offices, retail, public spaces and other commercial settings, as well as drive-through venues at pharmacies and banks.
The Micro-T is available in 1’x4’, 2’x2’ and 2’x4’ configurations with wattages of 36, 54 and 72 on 120- to 277-volt systems to fit various ceiling grids. With 0-10 dimming capabilities, the unit operates with specially binned LEDs for color consistency and quality.
The damp-listed fixture is constructed with sheet steel housing, a separate LED driver enclosure and an impact-resistant polycarbonate lens that protects the fixture. For example, the diffuser will protect the light source from car antennas impacting the fixture mounted to canopies in drive-through venues.
The 100-degree standard beam distribution is standard, and fixtures include rear knockouts that enable ease of installation. The luminaire is featured in MaxLite’s award-winning lay-in panel lineup, which also includes LED Flat Panels in Direct Lit and Edge Lit models and ECO-T™ LED Recessed Troffers.
Last year, MaxLite’s Plug-and-Play LED Lightbars received the 2012 Architectural Products magazine’s PIA. The 2013 PIAs are featured in the November issue of Architectural Products, which along with Illuminate and Architectural SSL magazines, is published by Chicago-based Construction Business Media. This company also operates the publications’ websites and electronic extensions and the ArchLED Conference, and partners in TheContinuingArchitect.com educational platform.
