Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. Announces Customer-Facing Divisions and Supply Chain Management Reorganization


Basking Ridge, NJ - October 15, 2009 - Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. a subsidiary of Taiyo Nippon Sanso Group, announced today a major reorganization of the company's field operations. Bill Kroll, CEO and Chairman, explained, "We have acquired nine businesses since 2004 each with different approaches to safety, quality and the business in general. These new businesses provide opportunities for growth and also opportunities to standardize on the best business practices from across the MTG Team. The new organization is designed to place the highest level of focus on our Customers and on continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality and lowest cost. In alignment with those goals, we will bring forth five Customer-Facing Divisions, and they will report to Scott Kallman, who in addition to his current role, as COO is now President. Under Scott, this organization will not only grow sales, but will utilize Supply Chain Management to optimize operations. This new organization is effective immediately and will position MTG with the large size and integrated footprint necessary to achieve accelerated growth in the coming months as the overall economy improves.

The Customer-Facing Divisions are as follows:

International & Helium Division led by Phil Kornbluth, Executive Vice President, is responsible for international mergers and acquisitions, (except Electronics and Solar) international portion of the Enable Distributor Program and global helium operations;

Electronics & Solar Division led by Kevin Finn, Executive Vice President, is responsible for international Electronics & Solar operations and domestic sales development;

Bulk Division led by Butch Miller, Senior Vice President, is responsible for domestics merchant bulk liquid, on sites and pipelines;

Packaged Division led by Howard Hubert, Senior Vice President, is responsible for industrial, medical, specialty, small bulk, welding supplies, specialty equipment sales, distribution and local service and retail stores;

Specialty Gas, Equipment and Chemical Division led by John Smickenbecker, Vice President, is responsible for specialty gases, equipment and chemicals.

The Supply Chain Management function led by Steve Foster , Senior Vice President, is responsible for industrial, specialty, electronics gases production and distribution to include purchasing and engineering. Reporting to Steve Foster are the following:

Strategic Sourcing led by Kevin Lynch, Vice President, is responsible for purchasing of mission critical goods and services and best practice for inventory management;

Logistics and Distribution led by Paco Garcia, Vice President, is responsible for domestic logistics planning and dispatch for bulk, cylinders, propane and tube trailers, fleet management and bulk installation customer service;

ASU Operations led by John Fick, Vice President, is responsible for merchant air separation units, on-site and pipeline operations;

ASU Engineering led by Tom Larson, Vice President, is responsible for merchant air separation units, on-site and pipeline engineering support;

Packaged Operations led by Roland Ostrowski, Vice President, is responsible for industrial, specialty and electronics operations;

Packaged Engineering led by Jeff Thompson, Vice President, is responsible for Electronics & Solar and Packaged Divisions engineering support.
