Liz Kautzmann with Fanuc Named Chairman of FMA'S Industrial Laser Council


HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL - (October 18, 2011) Liz Kautzmann, Laser Product Manager at FANUC Factory Automation (FANUC FA America), has been named Chairman of the FMA's (Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Int.) Industrial Laser Council for a two year term of 2012- 2013.

The mission of the Industrial Laser Council is to improve the productivity of fabricators and manufacturers in a global marketplace through the use of laser materials processing technology. The council focuses on developing and implementing educational products and programs to enable fabricators and manufacturers to maximize the benefits of utilizing laser technology. "I value the experience that the ILC can offer at the executive level. The ILC is a team relentless in ensuring objective perspective and creative empowerment that are drivers to applying laser technology to new applications", states Kautzmann.

Kautzmann was previously named Vice Chairman of the Industrial Laser Technology Council in 2010 - 2011. She has extensive experience supporting laser OEMs integrating FANUC CO2 oscillators primarily focused on in laser cutting. Kautzmann is best known for weighing each step in the laser cutting process: from maintenance, operator, programmer, design engineer, sales & sourcing to production manager as significant in the effectiveness of a laser shop. Each has a unique perspective and value to ensure profitability from any production system.

Kautzmann's real world experiences at Laser Lab International, Edison Welding Institute, and Armco Research are the substance that fueled her passion for laser cutting. In 1977, at the age of nine, she was first introduced to laser technology via a HeNe unit being used to develop a new electro/optic curriculum at Cincinnati Technical College. Twelve years later Kautzmann graduated from the program.
