Lexington, KY- Lexair, a leading manufacturer of bar feeders, lathe collet chucks, and collet style workholding systems, has been appointed master distributor and exclusive importer of OML workholding devices in the U.S. and Canada. Italy's OML (Officina Meccanica Lombarda S.p.A.) is one of the world's leading designers of quick-change, high-precision workholding systems, such as the Genius vice and CIVI rail system, widely used in 5-axis machining.
OML selected Lexair for the U.S. and Canadian markets because of the company's commitment to expand distribution, engineering support, and inventory in the North American market, according to Lexair Vice President Wes Allen. "We have already expanded our IMTS booth space to exhibit and demonstrate OML's product line, which is a perfect complement to our own," Allen stated. OML's unique Genius vice is the first designed for high-precision 5-axis milling on trunion tables. It uses opposing-force screws top and bottom to lock and reinforce jaws that ride on hardened/ground shafts.
