Lean & Six Sigma Specialist Joins the Team at DEK

DEK has announced the appointment of Lean Six Sigma Black Belt-certified Smith Hou to the position of Business Unit Manager. The highly experienced new recruit is charged with enhancing operations efficiency at the industry-leading screen printing specialist.

Smith brings with him over fifteen years' experience as an Operations Manager, having worked at several Fortune 500 companies. DEK's new Business Unit Manager has spent his career leading on many Lean Six Sigma projects, driving exceptional results spanning cost reductions, process optimization, quality improvements and space savings. At DEK, continual innovation and efficiency gains are passed directly on to the customer, ensuring that the company's technology leadership and award-winning customer service continue to power its 'expect more' philosophy.

Commenting on his appointment, Smith explains: "I'm delighted to be joining the highly experienced team at DEK, a company which is pioneering in its approach to lean and other progressive manufacturing ideologies. I'm looking forward to working with the whole team to improve our operations systems even further, taking company productivity to a whole new level - in line with DEK's commitment to continued improvement."

Smith will report to DEK's Director of Operations, Nigel Roberts, who adds: "Smith's experience in the field of Lean and Six Sigma will prove invaluable to our team - which has already taken a progressive stance in this area. I'm confident he can apply his knowledge to make an important contribution to supply chain integration, process improvement and ultimately, standardization. Our customers can expect more from DEK every time they partner with us. However, when it comes to lean, it's the one time when expecting less really is more!"
