LPT Named Global Sales Agent For Rohm And Haas Electronic Materials' Registar Laser-Imageable Materials

Agreement Supports LPT Patented Laser Projection Image Recording

Manchester NH, Marlborough, MA - December 13, 2005 - Laser Projection Technologies, Inc., (LPT) a leading innovator of laser projection systems for manufacturing and assembly, and Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, a global leader in specialty chemical technologies, announce an agreement naming LPT as the Global Sales Agent for RegiStar(TM) laser-imageable materials. The combination of laser projection and materials science technology provides significant benefits to the fabricator. These products are deployed together to provide greater accuracy in soft-tooling environments, opportunities for time and cost savings in a variety of traditional tooling operations and the advancement of fabrication capabilities.
This agreement is in conjunction with LPT's launch of its LPIR system. LPIR stands for Laser Projection with Image Recording and is based on LPT's patented technology using laser projection systems and Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials' laser-imageable materials. This break-through offers significant cost reductions and gains in manufacturing flexibility to OEMs in complex manufacturing and assembly, including the advanced composites, marine and aerospace industries.
According to LPT President Steve Kaufman, "This sales agreement adds to LPT's solutions - supporting our customers with LPIR and extending the flexibility of their laser projection systems. LPIR technology enables our laser projectors to mark the laser imageable material, effectively producing a blueprint directly on the part in virtually any manufacturing or assembly process. With LPIR our customers reduce their dependence on hard tools, cut their manufacturing costs, time and material charges." Kaufman concluded. Specific terms of the agreement were not made public.
Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials' Director of North American New Ventures, Hal Thrasher, indicates that "the synergies between laser projection systems and laser-imageable materials provide a solution to many fabrication challenges associated with costly and cumbersome hard-tooling technologies. The agreement provides significant opportunity to introduce the next generation of tooling capabilities with the introduction of the LPIR system," Thrasher remarked.
About Laser Projection Technologies, Inc.
Founded in 1996 and privately held, LPT has the largest installed base of sealed laser projection systems in the world. The world's leading aerospace manufacturers recognize LPT's laser projection systems as the most accurate, easy-to-use, and robust laser projection systems available in the world. LPT's customers are constantly seeking leaner production methods to speed up manufacturing and lower costs. Manufacturers that convert from conventional tooling methods to LPT's soft tooling LPIR solutions achieve significant advantages, specifically:
o Reduced cycle time
o Simplified tasks and reduced labor costs
o Reduced tooling costs
o Increased manufacturing floor space
o Rapid implementation of engineering changes
The result of customers incorporating LPT's laser projection systems into their manufacturing process is a significant increase in productivity and accuracy, along with a decrease in manufacturing cycle time. LPT's laser projection systems with its patented LPIR technology enable customers to design and build products that are otherwise impossible using traditional hard tooling and manufacturing methods.
