Twinsburg, OH - L.J. Star has released a new product bulletin that describes the types USL15-LED and USL35-LED luminaires for use with light/sight port combinations or separate sight glasses and light ports. Luminaires are used to illuminate vessels and pipe lines for observation of industrial and pharmaceutical processes. LED luminaires offer advantages over traditional halogen luminaires, including heatless operation and extreme long life.
The stainless steel luminaires are ideal for illuminating bioreactors, laboratory mixers and filters, as well as the interiors of boilers, tanks, agitators, separators, pipes and other - usually sealed - vessels in many operating environments. They are dust tight and water-jet tight to IP 65 per EN 60 529/ DIN VDE 0470, Part 1 and NEMA 4 and 4X. These luminaires fit several styles of sight glasses, including circular weld-on sight glass series DIN 28120 starting at DN40, circular sight glass series ANSI Bolt-On starting at 2 inches, visual flow indicators starting at 1 inch, circular weld-neck series MV starting at DN50, and sanitary clamp connection series MetaClamp® starting at 1 inch.
LED luminaire technology has a number of advantages:
o Unaffected by vibration
o Long service life - up to about 50,000 hours (5.5 years of continuous operation)
o Cool light that does not change the temperature of sensitive chemical and biological processes
o Lower energy consumption
o No risk of minor burns from operator contact
