ROLLING MEADOWS, IL, -- Komatsu America Corp.'s Komatsu CARE(TM), an advanced product and service support solution that comes standard with all construction size Tier 4 Interim machines, now also includes two complimentary Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) exchange units for the first 5 years, or 9,000 hours, whichever comes first. The KDPF Exchange not only lowers the cost of machine ownership, but also reduces down time when compared to KDPF cleaning.
Komatsu designed and developed the high efficiency Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) to capture 90% of particulate matter. Passive and active regeneration is initiated automatically-by the engine controller as needed-to burn the particulates while the engine is running, allowing uninterrupted machine operation. A special oxidation catalyst with fuel injection system eliminates the need for a traditional fuel burner, which reduces maintenance costs and increases reliability. Because of its integrated design, the KDPF does not interfere with daily operation, but keeps the operator aware of its status.
Komatsu CARE-KDPF Exchanges are scheduled to occur at a standard maintenance interval of 4,500 and 9,000 hours. There is no wait time for cleaning with a KDPF exchange, so uptime is increased.
Beyond the KDPF Exchange, Komatsu CARE also includes a Complimentary Maintenance Program that covers all 500-hour factory-scheduled maintenance intervals on Tier 4 Interim Komatsu construction equipment for the first 3 years or 2,000 hours (whichever occurs first). The Komatsu CARE program can lower the cost of ownership significantly.
Komatsu CARE covers all new construction size Tier 4 Interim equipment whether it is rented, leased or purchased and is available at all distributors in the U.S. and Canada. Komatsu CARE is transferrable to new owners, upon resale, within the United States and Canada.
