AKMH motors fill the marketplace gap for a servomotor that is hygienic and rugged, enabling OEMs to design and build more reliable and productive machines that are easier and faster to clean, while minimizing unscheduled downtime for end users
RADFORD, VA – Kollmorgen stainless steel AKMH™ Motors have been selected as a Finalist in the ECN Impact Awards program. Designed specifically to address the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), AKMH motors are specifically engineered to reduce the risk of costly food recalls, provide years of reliable service and minimize machine cleaning time in food, beverage, packaging, medical, pharmaceutical and converting applications.
With an audience of approximately 110,000 electronics OEM design engineers, ECN magazine reports on product news, design intelligence, and industry information. For nearly 60 years, ECN has actively supported the mission-critical objectives of industry professionals, delivering authoritative information on the products, components, tools, and techniques that make a significant impact in their current and future designs. The ECN Impact Awards recognize the top products and services across various design engineering categories.
“We are confident that the Kollmorgen AKMH Servomotor is the best-performing and longest-lasting stainless-steel washdown motor in the industry today. These motors combine industry-leading performance and a robust hygienic design to deliver reliable and consistent performance that can be the difference between a commodity product and differentiated machine for OEMs,” says Gene Matthews, Product Manager. “The innovative design of AKMH helps end-users over the long haul by simplifying sanitation requirements and minimizing the potential for contamination. In turn, this helps companies protect their brands by reducing the risk of devastating product recalls.”
These IP69K rated synchronous servomotors feature a hygienic housing design that meets EHEDG, NSF, BISSC and 3A guidelines. The AKMH Servomotor is constructed with materials to provide long-life and trouble-free operation, even with daily exposure to chemicals and high pressure washdowns. AKMH’s single-cable solution reduces the number of potential failure modes and minimizes installation time. The smooth surface design, and use of highly corrosion-resistant 316L stainless steel, decreases the risk of product recalls by reducing the possibility of bacteria growth. The AKMH requires no additional protection and can be sanitized without covering it or removing it from the machine.
Available as a Complete and Optimized Package
AKMH Servomotors can be combined with an AKDŽ servo drive or AKDŽ PDMM for a completely optimized, high performance motion system that delivers a distinct competitive advantage for OEMs, and brings cost savings to end-users through increased reliability and reduced cleaning time. Kollmorgen is so confident in the quality and performance of the AKMH/AKD combination that the company backs it with a two year warranty against water ingress –the best warranty in the industry.
