Press release date: October 5, 2007

LINCOLNSHIRE, ILL. - October 2007 - Continuing its 150th anniversary celebration, Klein Tools recently introduced three new commemorative, limited edition products featuring the Klein Tools 150th anniversary logo. The three items include a nine-piece nut driver set, a contractor's leather zipper portfolio with handles, and a lockback pocket knife.

The nine-piece nut driver set includes nine nut drivers plus a free zipper bag. The nut drivers feature Klein's exclusive 6-inch hollow shaft that is used on stacked circuit boards and other long bolt applications, color-coded handle ends and the patented Tip-Indent® for easy identification of hex size. A customized 150th anniversary Cordura® ballistic nylon zip bag is included to store the tools.

The limited edition contractor's zipper portfolio is a dark cognac color, and has a durable heavy-duty brass zipper and padded leather handles. Measuring 12 inches x 17 inches, it is used to transport documents, work orders and contracts. The 150th anniversary logo is etched into the leather on the front of the bag.

The lockback knife offers a unique Tanto blade for ease of precision cutting. A black chrome blade and a black anodized aluminum handle provide corrosion resistance. The 150th anniversary logo is specially lasered on the side of the handle.

"These additional commemorative items are a symbolic gesture of this year's celebration of Klein's founder Mathias Klein, who forged the first pair of pliers in Chicago 150 years ago," said John Cate, director of marketing, Klein Tools. "These items also help honor and recognize those who depend on Klein tools."

This year marks Klein Tools' 150th anniversary. In 1857, Klein Tools' founder and blacksmith Mathias Klein forged the first-known U.S.-made pliers in Chicago. Since then, Klein Tools has grown to be the leading manufacturer of a variety of hand tools and occupational protective equipment.
