Kimberly-Clark Professional Enhances Convenience and Environmental Benefits of Kimberly-Clark Sterling Nitrile Exam Gloves

ROSWELL, Ga. - Kimberly-Clark Professional continues to drive innovation for the pharmaceutical and cleanroom markets. The company's latest advance is focused on improving the performance and sustainability benefits of its Sterling exam gloves.

"Four years ago, Kimberly-Clark Professional re-invented our glove business with the launch of Sterling glove technology," explains Randy Kates, Director of Kimberly-Clark Professional Global Scientific Business. "Since then, we have made numerous improvements in the gloves' consistency and performance."

The latest advances in Sterling Exam Gloves are due to a proprietary manufacturing and packaging process, which enables one-at-a-time dispensing and improves the product's sustainability benefits.

"We believe users will notice and appreciate how easy these gloves are to dispense compared with previous gloves," said Carolina Krevolin, category manager, Kimberly-Clark Professional. "The gloves also help labs reduce their solid waste."

The new glove packaging allows for twice as many gloves in the same size package as traditional latex gloves. In fact, customers using just 25 cases of Sterling Exam Gloves per month can reduce their solid waste by up to 1.2 tons per year versus traditional latex gloves. The new glove boxes still fit within existing glove bracket holders.

"Environmentally responsible packaging is a key component of the product's lifecycle," explains Krevolin, noting that Kimberly-Clark Professional's Reduce Today, Respect Tomorrow approach to sustainability focuses on reducing waste at every step in the product lifecycle. "The way we use resources today shapes the world of tomorrow."

Superior Glove Performance

Kimberly-Clark Sterling Nitrile Exam gloves are natural latex-free gloves that provide the protection of nitrile with the sensitivity of latex.

"Many have tried to copy our Sterling technology by 'thinning' their gloves to achieve superior sensitivity, but there's only one true Sterling Nitrile glove," notes Krevolin.

The ambidextrous gloves have an AQL of 1.5 and feature beaded cuffs and textured fingertips. The gloves are cleared for use in chemotherapy.
