John B. Kowalski, Ph.D. Signs a Multi-Year Exclusive Agreement with Sterigenics as a Senior Staff Consultant
Itasca, IL - October 7, 2009: Sterigenics International, a global leader in sterilization services for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, announced today the signing of a multi-year exclusive agreement with John B. Kowalski, Ph.D., to serve as a Senior Staff Consultant with the SteriPro Consulting team.
John is a broadly trained microbiologist and has 30 years experience in the development, validation, and transfer of sterilization processes for medical products, mainly with the Sterilization Science & Technology group of Johnson & Johnson, where he became Chief Scientist and Executive Director. John most recently has been the proprietor of microGAMMA, LLC, a successful consulting firm specializing in sterilization microbiology, sterilization process development and validation, and quality assurance/regulatory issues.
He has expertise in both radiation and ethylene oxide sterilization, as well as a number of other sterilization processes, such as moist heat, gas plasma and ultraviolet light. In the radiation field, he developed the VDmax methodology for substantiation of a radiation sterilization dose, as well as publishing and co-authoring a number of technical papers on sterilization. He also has considerable experience in the development of single-use disposable and absorbable polymer-based medical devices.
