Press release date: January 23, 2014

CHERRY VALLEY, IL – According to Nasdaq, several new emerging markets, as well as developed nations, are boosting defense spending and generating business for U.S. Aerospace and Defense companies, even as the U.S. Aerospace and Defense sector battles budget cuts and spending constraints. An improving global economy, increased defense spending in other countries, and technological innovations and acquisitions have made up for U.S. military budget cuts. Meanwhile, from the civilian side, the commercial aircraft fleet is aging rapidly, so many companies are endeavoring to upgrade their fleets.

In fact, the U.S. manufacturing sector is expected to see rapid expansion in 2014, according to the quarterly U.S. Industrial Outlook released by The Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation. The report analyzes several industries, noting that key growth areas include transportation equipment, medical care and aerospace products and parts production are among 16 industries expected to grow. Ipsen continues to be a part of the growth in those key areas.

In December, Ipsen shipped a large vertical vacuum aluminum brazing furnace to a major aerospace company, a longstanding customer. This furnace, the customer's second vertical furnace, will be installed in Mexico. Two other TurboTreaters® will be shipped to Southeast Asia for the same aerospace company. One of these furnaces will be used for high-pressure gas quenching; the other includes AvaC ® for low pressure vacuum carburizing.

Ipsen, known for quality products and reliability, is committed to furthering the success of its customers, including those in the Aerospace industry. To ensure safety and consistency, many Aerospace manufacturers, have established their own specifications that must be met or exceeded to run their parts. Ipsen provides the guidance and solutions to build the right furnaces for each customer's processes and to provide furnaces capable of meeting their requirements, as well as those of AMS 2750E and Nadcap.
