International Contract Molding, LLC Expands Charlotte Plant Capacity

Charlotte, N.C. July 8, 2011-International Contract Molding, LLC, a custom and contract injection molding company specializing in the design, manufacture, and management of large tonnage molding projects, has added a Krauss Maffei 3200-ton machine to its Charlotte facility. This totals the machine count in Charlotte to twelve, which ranges in sizes from 310 tons to 6600 tons. "With an increased number of projects we've received from our customers, this machine adds capacity to this plant that will help us serve them better, as well as bring on new customers," reports Kenn Budlong, ICM general manager.

The new KM3200 went online in June, once the power and water were installed and floor space was made available by moving other machines. It will initially be producing 65- and 95-gallon container bases for the waste industry, and subsequently will run parts for the irrigation, automotive, and material handling markets. This new addition follows two machine installations that the Charlotte facility saw in 2010. Both manufactured by Krauss Maffei, one machine is 3200 tons, the other a 1000-ton press.
ICM is a subsidiary of Otto Environmental Systems North America, Inc., which has the plant in Charlotte as well as one in Eloy, Arizona. The Eloy facility holds five machines ranging from 1250 to 3500 tons. Both plants provide custom and contract molding services. Otto was listed in Plastic News's 2011 Top 100 Injection Molders. In 2010, Otto was named in the Inc. 5000 list, which recognizes the most entrepreneurial and fastest growing companies in the U.S. The Company ranked number 102 among its peers in the manufacturing sector of the list.
