Press release date: March 1, 2007

Mainstream Engineering, Rockledge. Fla., a leading manufacturer of HVAC/R aftermarket industrial service/maintenance products, introduces the industry's first interactive EPA Section 608 CD-ROM study aide. It includes an electronic study guide, reference manual, and practice test for EPA's Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

Available at HVAC/R distributors nationwide, the CD-ROM is now part of Mainstream Engineering's existing thirteen-year-old Qwik608(TM) fast-track learning program that allows users to quickly prepare and practice the EPA 608 certification test at their own convenience. The four-color CD-ROM includes a computerized version of Qwik608's popular 142-page, "Environmentally Safe Refrigerant Service Techniques For the Next Generation," the only Section 608 post-test reference manual in the HVAC/R industry.

The CD-ROM also includes preparation tests that interactively signal incorrect practice answers and then automatically display appropriate sections in the Qwik608 manual that address the question. Pre-market research reveals that Qwik608 CD-ROM users record test scores 10-percent higher than counterparts using traditional study materials.

Like the original Qwik608, the CD-ROM is divided into the certification test's four sections of: 1) Core Questions; 2) Type I-small appliance; 3) Type II-high pressure; 4) Type III-low pressure-appliance.

The most recent Qwik608 version can also include the accompanying certification exam, QwikTest(TM), which is a computerized test that does not require an internet connection and allows the proctoring distributor to grade the applicant's results immediately upon completion.
