Marine System Leader's New Line of High-Performance DC Thrusters Recognized for Groundbreaking Technology and Benefit to Boaters
New Bedford, Mass. - Imtra, the leading manufacturer and importer of quality marine products, announced today that its new line of proportional Speed Control DC thrusters, the Side-Power "SEP" Series thrusters, has received the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award at the 70th Annual Miami International Boat Show. Judged by Boating Writers International (BWI), the Innovation Awards honor products that best meet the criteria of "innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured; benefit to the marine industry and/or consumer; practicality; and cost-effectiveness". Awarded in the Docking and Fendering Equipment category, "SEP" thrusters from Imtra allow boaters to select the power they need to make precise boat movements in any weather and sea conditions for easy boat positioning.

Side-Power "SEP" Series thrusters eliminate the danger of over- and under-powering while maneuvering around docks, berths or vessels. Especially important in light weather conditions when excessive thrust can make docking particularly challenging, the revolutionary thrusters offer boaters full power when they need it and light assistance when little thrust is required. Featuring an S-link control system for diagnostics, as well as seamless operation and integration of components, Imtra's Side-Power "SEP" thrusters also have an easy-to-set "Hold" function, useful for holding a boat in place against the dock for short-term maneuvers like picking up or dropping off guests. The thrusters incorporate a Power Control Unit that adjusts the motor's power to ensure accuracy and protects against thruster motor overheating, direct drive direction change, low voltage and potential short circuits. Engineered with the highest safety standards found in all Side-Power thrusters, the DC speed control system is ideally suited for 40- to 70-foot boats, and is available in 12V and 24V models.
