Press release date: June 13, 2012

HOUSTON - Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) in Springfield, Ill. has named Digisonics as the replacement enterprise CVIS Solution for their facilities. The Digisonics System will be implemented at three facilities: St. John's Hospital, Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants and Prairie Diagnostic Center, unifying all sites with a common cardiology PACS and structured reporting database. The single CVIS database will also include Digisonics Search, a powerful data analysis and mining tool for enhanced multi-site statistical queries.

HSHS will utilize Digisonics DigiNet Pro for fully functional remote reading capabilities. Clinicians will have secure web-based access to the entire cardiovascular image management and structured reporting system for fast image review and report turnaround of their echo (adult and pediatric), vascular, cardiac cath and nuclear studies from anywhere at any time via Citrix. DigiNet Pro will enable zero-footprint deployments on the LAN via Citrix.

Additional nuclear, echo and cardiac cath image analysis and quantitation capabilities will be available via seamless integration of Digisonics with INVIA Corridor 4DM-SPECT, Philips QLAB and Medis Q-Angio, respectively. A single click on the Digisonics workstation launches the 3rd party software directly and images processed in INVIA, Philips and Medis are stored back into Digisonics for easy review. Completing the cardiovascular record review, physicians will have the ability to launch Epiphany ECG management system directly from Digisonics CVIS workstations.

Seamless integration with Meditech EMR via HL7 interfaces for ADT In and Results Out will create a fully electronic workflow. An added upgrade to the Results Out interface, DigiLink, will embed a hyperlink to a PDF copy of the finalized report in the HL7 message. Integration with the facility's ultrasound machines will autopopulate the patient demographics and measurements directly into the Digisonics structured report, reducing manual entry time and eliminating the potential for entry errors. The end result for HSHS is a seamless digital workflow with improved efficiency, accuracy and turnaround times.
