(Carol Stream, IL) ITW Trans Tech will now produce Rapid Prototype Parts from digital files as a special service to three-dimensional industrial product decorators. The new program enables manufacturers to speed up the product development process by sending Trans Tech electronic drawings to create prototype parts for test printing or analysis prior to actual production.
Prototype parts are ready to handle immediately after curing, allowing customers to evaluate physical models of their design concepts.
This service addresses a common need: product designers need a part to begin a project but have none to work with. However, they do have the corresponding drawing file of the part used for creating the injection mold or other manufacturing operations. Trans Tech is able to produce the part with our new Rapid Prototype 3D Printer and decorate it with their image, if desired, and send it back to the customer. Shapes are virtually limitless.
In many cases, all of the above can take place weeks before any actual production parts are available for use.
This program is also very valuable when customers require a part holding fixture. Fixtures can be started in advance of the production parts to save valuable time. Project timelines can be dramatically reduced by utilizing this program as production parts may not be needed to begin a project.
