IPC APEX EXPO Show Sales on Target for Tenth Anniversary Celebration

YouTube Contest and Special Promotions Planned

BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, - With leading indicators beginning to show a long-awaited climb out of economic recession, companies in the electronic interconnect industry stand ready to drive a strong recovery as they prepare for IPC APEX EXPO(TM) 2010, April 6-8, at Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas. On the eve of IPC APEX's tenth anniversary, Mary Mac Kinnon, IPC director of trade show sales, is happy to report that exhibit sales are "on target" with 85 percent of the exhibit floor sold.

Mac Kinnon credits the show's consistent value to attendees and exhibitors alike, "For a decade, our attendees and exhibitors have recognized that this event helps them achieve their goals. With the industry's premier technical conference and critical standards development meetings, along with the fact that the event repeatedly attracts a qualified international audience of industry executives in PCB manufacturing and electronics assembly worldwide, there really is no other event like IPC APEX EXPO in the world."

Thankful to the countless volunteers, industry experts and companies that have helped define IPC APEX over the years, IPC is celebrating with a number of special promotions.

While engineers are well-known for their curiosity, IPC believes their creative side will shine in IPC's first-ever YouTube video competition. Breaking from the normal business-like focus of the APEX meeting, this friendly competition encourages industry members to "bring it on" and share the bloopers, blunders or bonus moments of their careers or experiments. All video entries are due by February 13, 2010, after which the entries will be placed on the IPC APEX EXPO Web site for industry voting.

In addition to the video competition, IPC will provide ten lucky individuals with free All-Access Passes to their event. A value of $1,295, the All-Access Pass provides holders with admittance to the full technical conference, professional development courses, the PCB or EMS Executive Management Meetings (must qualify), Designers Day, standards development committee meetings, IPC luncheons and the conference proceedings CD. Individuals can enter through personalized URLs on mail sent to IPC's mailing list or by visiting ipc.org/All-Access. Winners will be selected on February 2, 2010.

More than 10,000 executives and engineers/managers representing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), printed circuit board (PCB) companies and electronics manufacturing services providers are expected to attend IPC APEX EXPO 2010. This figure, combined with continued support from the industry's top suppliers as exhibitors, has kept the event in Tradeshow Week's "Top 200" list of largest trade shows in North America since 2001.
