IAQA Webinar: "Was this HVAC System Impacted by Fire Particulate?"

Stoneham, MA - EnviroTech Clean Air, Inc. is helping spread the word that the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) is presenting the webinar, "Was this HVAC System Impacted by Fire Particulate?" on July 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The webinar discusses the use and application of the new Indoor Environmental Standards Organization (IESO) and Restoration Industry Association (RIA) Standard 6001. This new American National Standard Institute (ANSI) approved standard, IESO-RIA Standard 6001, describes the standardized protocol for determining if an HVAC system has been affected by fire.

During this webinar, restoration contractors, air duct cleaners, IAQ consultants and insurance industry professionals will learn about the new ANSI Standard; specifically, how and where to take a surface sample in an HVAC system and test for fire residue indicators, such as char and soot. It will discuss when and where the new ANSI- approved standard should be applied in both commercial and residential buildings. Attendees of this webinar will be well-versed on the logistics of the new standard, and know when and how to apply it.

The webinar's presenter, Daniel Greenblatt, CMH, president of EnviroTech Clean Air Inc., understands the importance of continuous growth and education within his field. "There have been many long questions to determine if HVAC systems have been impacted by fire and smoke events," says Greenblatt. "This webinar demonstrates the standardized protocols to make that determination."

The standard was developed and drafted by a diverse committee that included microscopists, scientists, labs, CIHs, duct cleaners, HVAC engineers, an attorney and restoration specialists. This committee possesses years of experience in their related fields. IESO-RIA Standard 6001 defines the standardized protocols to determine if there is a presence of a fire related particulate, as a result of fire and smoke events in a structure.

The webinar costs $25 for IAQA members and $40 for non-members. To sign up for the webinar, applicants must be registered on IAQA's website.
