Press release date: January 11, 2013

Toronto, Canada - GAO Comm ( recommends its 3Com compatible 1000Base-SX SFP transceiver which is fully compatible with original 3Com transceivers. This transceiver can be deployed in Gigabit Ethernet Links at 1.25 Gbps, Fiber Channel at 1.06 Gbps, Metro/Access Networks as well as other optical links.

This 3Com compatible 1000Base-SX SFP transceiver, model C011P101, operates at a nominal wavelength of 850 nm and is designed for multi-mode fiber. It provides standard AC coupled CML for high speed signal and LVTTL control and monitoring of signals. It also features a hot-pluggable SFP footprint, 550 m transmission distance, lower power dissipation and RoHS compliance.

This optical transceiver consists of two sections: the receiver section uses an integrated GaAs detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header, and the transmitter uses an 850 nm VCSEL laser. It is equipped with duplex LC connector for data connection. In addition, the transceiver is compliant with SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) Specification and SFF-8472.

This high performance 3Com compatible 1000Base-SX SFP transceiver belongs to GAO's family of 3Com Compatible Optical Transceivers. This line also includes other advanced products such as 3Com Compatible 1000Base-SX GBIC Optical Transceiver which consists of two sections: the transmitter section incorporates a VCSEL laser and the receiver section contains an InGaAs/InP PIN photodiode integrated with a trans-impedance preamplifier (TIA), 3Com Compatible 1000Base-LX SFP Transceiver which provides standard AC coupled CML for high speed signal and LVTTL control and monitoring of signals and 3Com Compatible 10GBASE-SR XENPAK Transceiver which consists of an 850 nm wavelength optical transmitter and receiver, XAUI interface, Mux and Demux with clock and data recovery (CDR).
