A wide variety of odd-sized sapphire windows and substrates with different crystallographic orientations and other hard-to-find optics are available for immediate delivery from Meller Optics, Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island.
Meller Overrun Optics feature a dynamic list of round, square, rectangular, flat- and wedge-shaped windows, lenses, and mirrors; many with critically tight specifications. Fabricated from sapphire, BaF2, CaF2, fused- and crystalline-quartz, laser glasses, ZnSe, silicon, and germanium, they are first quality and typically priced 20% less than custom ordered optics.
In addition to reducing costs, Meller Overrun Optics eliminate the wait associated with custom ordering. Ideally suited for designers involved with product development and research laboratories, these parts typically exhibit dimensional tolerances from ±0.001" to ±0.005", 10 waves to 1/10th wave flatness, and 10-5 to 80-50 scratch-dig.
