Harbec Plastics, Inc. announces that its facility in Ontario, NY, is registered by ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and is eligible to receive quotes for defense-related articles and services that appear on the United States Munitions List. ITAR regulations implement the provision of the ARMs Export Control Act and are administered and enforced by the U.S. Department of State to safeguard US national security and further US foreign policy objectives. ITAR prohibits the unauthorized export of military/defense or space related articles, data or services to unauthorized foreign persons or entities. "Being an ITAR registered company adds another valuable resource to compliment the many valued capabilities that Harbec possesses. Our ITAR registration will now enable Harbec to work on U.S. government and military projects that are strictly regulated by ITAR regulations," says Harbec's General Manager, Jack Schultz.

The U.S. Arms Export Control Act requires that all U.S. persons that manufacture defense articles (components), handle defense related data, or furnish defense services (such as design services or providing technological know-how) must register with the U.S. Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Harbec is registered and, therefore, is compliant with the rules and regulations issued by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls known as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or ITAR.

Harbec has customers in the aerospace and defense industries that make products for the U.S. government and military, and supplies molded and machined components for their projects. "Harbec's customers can now feel confident to use Harbec's injection molding, prototyping and machining technologies on projects that require the conformance to and control of ITAR's sensitive and confidential project requirements," adds Schultz.
