Fujitsu Releases eBook Version of the Information Paradox

Fujitsu Consulting Book Continues To Provide Invaluable Insight On Successful IT Projects

Edison, New Jersey, November 14, 2007 - Fujitsu Consulting, the North America consulting and services arm of Fujitsu Limited, today announced the release of an online version of the revised edition of The Information Paradox: Realizing the Business Benefits of Information Technology. Converting The Information Paradox to an eBook format enables increased accessibility to the entire content of the original hardcover version of the book. The new eBook is optimized for on-screen reading on most computers -including laptops, notebooks and handheld devices - and with its printer-friendly format, can also be easily downloaded and printed.

"The Information Paradox continues to be a must-read for any executive about to step into a large scale IT program," said Jim Bradbury, vice president of the Value Management Practice for Fujitsu Consulting. "This book is relevant for all industry sectors, and will provide invaluable insight to any business leader who approves or manages IT program investments on behalf of their organization. The Information Paradox describes the principles behind successful management of IT-enabled change and why it is critical to pair good project management discipline with project prioritization in order to create tangible business value."

The revised edition of The Information Paradox was released in 2003. The project was led by John Thorp, for many years a senior consultant with Fujitsu Consulting. The Information Paradox showcases why some IT projects succeed while others flounder. Topics covered include the Benefits Realization process, the Value Assessment technique, program and portfolio management, full cycle governance, real world case studies, and how to get started with a roadmap to achieving successful results.

"IT executives continue to face demands for higher performance with tighter budgets," said Bradbury. "The Information Paradox focuses on how business leaders can tackle the challenges of proving the value of IT investment and getting solid and measurable business results."

The book introduced the "Benefits Realization Approach", which is a unique benefits-focused balanced scorecard methodology and is part of ResultStation(TM), one of the process domains in Fujitsu's leading-edge business transformation framework methodology, Macroscope®. The book explores how to manage a value-driven program or a portfolio of program investments so that the prescribed changes and benefits desired by an organization are delivered

"The content and analysis are as relevant today as when first published. Every business is looking to get more out of their IT spending and this is your starting point to understand and apply that process," said Bradbury. "All business executives need to read The Information Paradox."

Other features of the electronic version of The Information Paradox include a dynamic table of contents that links to the correct chapters, search capabilities and a useful glossary.

Users are given access to the eBook through an Adobe PDF received in an email after online registration. Please visit:
