Ergonomic, Magnetic 'Lift-Assist' Systems from Industrial Magnetics Increase Productivity by Up to 400%

Boyne City, MI - January, 2010 - Industrial Magnetics, Inc.'s (IMI) Automation Group, which designs and manufacturers magnetic material handling products, has published several "Custom Solution Profile" case studies on their website which utilize magnets and operator-assisted lifting devices in challenging applications involving lifting, moving and changing orientation of steel parts and plates.

Applications covered include maneuvering heavy, odd-shaped steel parts or plates in and out of press brakes, painting lines, welding cells and assembly & packaging stations. "When utilizing a magnet in conjunction with operator assisted lift technology, such as a Gorbel(TM) lift, our customers have realized a significant reduction in the risk of operator injury and often a dramatic increase in the speed and efficiency of the lifting operation", states Dennis O'Leary, IMI's Director of Sales & Marketing. "We have a customer who realized an astounding 400% increase in their daily production rate".

The "Automation Custom Solution Profiles" #001, #002, #005, #006 and #012 can be downloaded from the company's online "Media Center" (registration required) at www.magnetics.com/media.asp, under "Technical Documentation", or by emailing a request for hard copies to: imi@magnetics.com.
