Schaumburg, IL, June 2, 2008 - At IMTS 2008, Enshu will be featuring their high-speed JE80S horizontal machining center with a 300-tool matrix-style tool magazine and 18-pallet Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS).
Enshu's JE80S features 31.5" X, Y & Z travels atop of 500mm pallets within a comparatively small machine footprint. The standard dual-contact 40-taper spindle ramps up to 15,000 RPM in 1.9 seconds and develops 24.8 HP at 1,061 RPM. Achieving rapid traverse rates of 3,543 IPM at 1G acceleration, the JE80S has been a productivity leader in today's competitive horizontal machining center market for years.
For enhanced unmanned operations, Enshu will exhibit the JE80S with their new 300-tool matrix-style Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) and new 18-pallet, three tiered, Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). The ATC features the industry's fastest average pre-select time of 6 seconds and can safely and accurately fetch tools up to 26lbs., 6.3" diameter and 18.8" long.
The FMS is capable of storing both machine pallets and storage baskets interchangeably. It is designed with a unitized steel frame and comes standard with two levels of pallets. A third level can easily be field retrofitted. The standard module comes in a 12 or 18 pallet configuration with expansion modules available. Additional JE80S machining centers can be added per each module.
