Press release date: April 4, 2014

Tube 2014, Messe Düsseldorf, Germany, 7 – 11 April 2014
Ovako  Hall: 04    Stand: G17

Offering greater levels of strength and consistency, Ovako will show examples of its extensive range of engineering steels at Tube 2014, where the stand theme will be, 'With the right steel, imagination is your only limitation.'

"Offering great design flexibility with increased load capability and product consistency, our engineering steels deliver an edge for customers of added value and productivity," explained Göran Nyström, Senior Vice President, Head of Group Marketing & Technology, Ovako AB.

"Not only do they provide essential weight reductions, so important in today's applications while maintaining component performance, but can also offer significant life cycle cost savings making it feasible to replace other costlier materials. In our engineering steels, we really offer the right steel," he added.

Fundamental to Ovako's material consistency and performance capabilities is the batch size of its melting process allowing the company to maintain precise control of both the steel consistency and cleanliness, time after time.

As one of the world's leading producers of hot rolled and cold worked seamless tubes, the company has consistently invested in plant and procedures to produce high quality tube to guaranteed dimensions to enable customers to reduce machining, improve yields and cut costs.

Modern precision rolling techniques are used to convert the steel into a wide range of hot rolled, cold rolled or cold drawn seamless tubes as well as hot rolled peeled tubes and cold-rolled or drawn centreless ground tubes.

"These processes allow us to produce precision cut tubes that enable clean, cylindrical ring dimensions that can be achieved in a single cut," said Göran Nyström.

Also on display will be Ovako SR-100 wire, designed for high grade, structural steel and bearing steel applications. Supplied in a surface removed and fully inspected condition the wire provides customers with economy of production with high consistency and cleanliness.

Featured on the stand will be Ovako engineered steel in a variety of product forms, including seamless tubes and hollow bars for use where stringent material demands apply within the rolling bearing, automotive, hydraulic and general engineering industries.

Superior quality rolled and forged rings are produced as a result of strict controls throughout the production process achieving greater and more precise material consistency for a near-net-shape final product. This allows customers reductions in subsequent operations to achieve the end product generating cost savings and increased capacity.

Examples of round, flat, special profile and value added bar products will also be represented.

Details of the complete range of engineering steels from Ovako will be available on the stand and can be found on the company website:
