Press release date: December 22, 2007

FREMONT, California - Elma Electronic, a leading designer and manufacturer of rotary components and electronic packaging products, has announced that they have re-qualified their popular Type E33 high life incremental encoder's rotational life to over 1 million rotations. The E33 boasts rugged construction features including an all metal body, metal threaded bushing and standard metal shaft. The E33 can also be modified into a concentric configuration, available on a special order basis.

The E33 has Elma's proprietary indexing mechanism, creating their famous tactile feedback that is evident even through gloves. This is a critical design consideration for applications such as mobile radios and medical instruments where the user may need to operate a panel control without looking at the selection indicator. The E33 can be ordered with or without an integrated push button, and various shaft, indexing schemes, and mounting options are also available.

With 32/16, 32/8, 16/16, 16/8 detents/pulses per revolution, the E33 offers the choice of 0.5, 1.5, 2.0 or 2.5 Ncm switching torque options. There is selectable front panel sealing to IP60 or IP68 and a threaded or non-threaded bushings. The E33 comes packaged in tray or tape and reel format.

The standard lead-time is 4 weeks ARO.
