Electric Cloud Launches ElectricAccelerator Huddle, a Free Build and Test Acceleration Tool that Dramatically Accelerates the Front-end of the Continuous Delivery Process

Press release date: June 18, 2014

New offering gives small teams free access to industry-leading ElectricAccelerator build and test acceleration

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Electric Cloud (www.electric-cloud.com), the leader in enterprise Continuous Delivery, today announced ElectricAccelerator Huddle, a free product that dramatically accelerates software builds and tests for development teams. Available through public beta, it empowers teams to be more agile and productive by tapping unused desktop CPU capacity within a peer-to-peer group of developers to distribute builds and tests, and reduce cycle times. The result is a highly efficient way of supercharging the "front-end" of the Continuous Delivery process.

Electric Cloud also announced today ElectricFlow, a family of easy to adopt applications designed to automate the Continuous Delivery of software through build, test and deployment. Click here to read the full news release: http://www.electric-cloud.com/about/news.php.

"Continuous Delivery isn't continuous if builds and tests take hours to complete. Smaller development teams may not be able to have a dedicated pool of server resources for build and test acceleration, but they almost all use 4- or 8-core desktops or laptops," said Rohit Jainendra, chief product officer for Electric Cloud. "Huddle brings the power of ElectricAccelerator to these teams in a 'freemium' offering, allowing them to create a virtual pool of resources to accelerate builds and tests, using unused CPU capacity in a way that is easy to deploy and manage."

Electric Cloud powers Continuous Delivery for software organizations developing web, mobile, embedded systems and enterprise IT applications, by streamlining and automating the software delivery process. Often referred to as the "new Agile," Continuous Delivery drives strategic value through more frequent, predictable and higher quality software releases. It directly addresses the reliability and risk issues of releasing software faster within increasingly complex environments, and helps organizations embrace constant change and respond better to business issues by releasing applications quickly.

With Huddle, teams can

--  Accelerate builds and tests, for free, forever, on up to 8 local cores -
or parallelize and distribute them across multiple machines up to a
        limited number of hours
--  Ensure correct builds through build dependency management and file
        system isolation
--  Easily add new members to the huddle and increase the available pool of
        virtual build and test resources
--  Plug Huddle into an existing environment with no recoding or
        reconfiguration
--  Opt-in or out of a huddle at any time to control the amount of CPU
        cycles being shared

Huddle is currently in public beta and available for download at: (http://electric-cloud.com/huddle).
