Eclipse is pleased to announce the hiring of Neil Simpson to the position of Glass Manager Europe. Mr. Simpson joins Eclipse on August 31, 2006.
"Neil brings to Eclipse a broad range of application knowledge and experience including developmental engineering, technical direction, project management, and combustion technology management," says Dave Fontes, Glass Industry Manager for Eclipse. "His technical skills and industry experience will prove to be a tremendous asset for our European glass combustion clients."
Mr. Simpson comes to Eclipse from the BOC Group, a global industrial gases company that supplies compressed and bulk gases, chemicals, and ancillary equipment. He has been affiliated with BOC since 1998, most recently as Senior Process Specialist within their Global Technical Solutions Group.
Mr. Simpson previously served as Senior Development Engineer for Laidlaw Drew, specializing in the design, development, and testing of industrial burners. Earlier this year, Eclipse acquired the intellectual assets and brand name of Laidlaw Drew, a former designer and manufacturer of oil and gas firing equipment and controls for Glass Furnaces.
Mr. Simpson's new position with Eclipse will primarily involve servicing existing glass clients as well as developing new relations with prospective customers of Eclipse within the European Glass Market. His industry knowledge will allow him to advise customers on best use practices of Eclipse products within glass process applications. He will operate out of the Eclipse regional office in Droitwich, Worcestershire, United Kingdom.
