Rowley, MA - The Michell Instruments Easidew IS dew-point transmitter helps prevent loss of effectiveness of electric generator cooling and internal corrosion that can lead to a catastrophic failure. Water vapor in the hydrogen cooling loop increases the effort required to turn the rotor, wasting fuel and robbing power. An Easidew IS mounted inside the generator casing continuously monitors hydrogen purity alerting the operator when corrective action is needed to reduce windage losses caused by an increase in gas density and prevent unscheduled maintenance shut-downs.
