Dow Corning's presentation awarded "Best Paper" at Coatings for Plastics Symposium

MIDLAND, MICHIGAN, USA - A presentation given by Dow Corning's Fluorine Technology Program Sales Development Manager Steven R. Block at this month's 10th Annual International Coatings for Plastics Symposium(TM) was awarded "The Best Paper of the Symposium."

Titled New Chemistry Improves Surface Performance, the presentation was based on work by Dow Corning and Daikin Industries, Ltd., and focused on high-value fluorosilicone hybrid coatings with notable advantages over current coating technologies. The new technology will be shown to provide high hardness, high flexibility, adhesion to low surface energy surfaces, chemical resistance, fast cure at low temperatures, and high gloss properties of the coatings.

"With more than 20 technical papers presented at the Symposium, I am honored that ours received this distinction," said Block. "Receiving this award recognizes the advancements in this field resulting from Dow Corning's technology alliance with Daikin Industries. We welcome this opportunity, and others, to share our fluorosilicone technology innovations."

With its versatile fluorosilicone technologies, Dow Corning is developing new or improved materials for driving customer growth in existing and new markets with high-value, differentiated products and solutions. This technology platform can provide distinct competitive advantages in the Coatings, Textiles, Construction, Electronics, Personal Care, and Automotive Industries. Jointly developed by Dow Corning and Daikin Industries, New Chemistry Improves Surface Performance is available as a technical whitepaper.
