Dow Corning Announces Leadership Changes to Industry Groups


MIDLAND, Mich. (USA), October 24, 2005 - Dow Corning Corporation has announced that

Brian Chermside has been named global industry executive director for the company's Expertise-based Industry Group (eBIG) and Jeremy Burks has been named global industry executive director for the Paper and Process Industries Group.

Chermside joined Dow Corning in 1985 and served a wide variety of positions, including manager of Electrical and Communications Industry, product line manager for methyl fluids and intermediates, and general manager of the Personal, Household and Automotive Care Commercial Unit in Life Sciences. He became global industry director of Life Sciences in 1999. He is located in Seneffe, Belgium.

Burks joined Dow Corning in 1987 in the sales department in the UK, and worked in the electronics, aerospace, mold making and automotive sectors. After working in economic evaluation in the finance department of the company's European headquarters in Belgium, he held positions in Dow Corning's detergents, chemicals and coatings businesses, then spent two years as the Area Industry Director for Dow Corning's Rubber and Lubricants unit in Europe.

In 2001, Burks was named Global Industry Executive Director for eBIG, which includes Molykote® lubricants, Dow Corning® industrial maintenance sealants, and Dow Corning industrial moldmaking products. Burks is located in Korea and is also Busajang (comparable to Vice President) for Dow Corning Korea Ltd.
