CyberOptics Corporation (Nasdaq: CYBE) announces that it was awarded a 2014 SMT China Vision Award in the category of Inspection Testing - AOI for its latest product - QX150i™. The award was presented to the company during an April 23, 2014 ceremony at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Convention Center during NEPCON China.
The QX150i™ AOI system offers high value, flexible inspection for all applications and is ideally suited for pre-reflow and selective solder inspection. The Strobed Inspection Module (SIM) enables on-the-fly inspection assuring fast and smooth inspection at 150cm2/sec. AI2 (Autonomous Image Interpretation) technology on QX150i™ ensures ultra-fast programming getting you from zero to production ready in less than 13 minutes*. With higher sensor resolution (12µm) and enhanced illumination, QX150i™ offers crisp, perfect quality images for accurate inspection with lowest false call rates. Also, the system is designed to provide easy wedge-in replacement of existing conveyors.
When used as a pre-reflow AOI system, the QX150i™ system not only prevents defective panels from proceeding to the next process, but also reduces manufacturing defects by detecting process problems earlier. This allows corrective action to take place sooner. Hence, QX150i™ can provide significant cost savings in the form of direct material and labor costs as well as manufacturing overhead.
