Corticon and DST: Bringing Business Rules to AWD

Joint marketing agreement to help companies make smarter, faster business process decisions

KANSAS CITY, Mo. and REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 25, 2011 - DST Technologies and Corticon have signed a joint marketing agreement for selling DST's AWD business process management (BPM) solution and Corticon's business rules engine. The companies are leaders in their respective segments, and sell to enterprises in financial services, insurance, healthcare and other industries.

AWD is a solution that orchestrates people, process and content to work in harmony in order to lower risk and deliver seamless, high-quality customer service. Corticon's patented "no-coding" rules engine is designed to automate the most sophisticated decision processes so that organizations can adapt quickly to change, maximize opportunities and increase customer satisfaction.

"Because processes must be decision-driven, and decisions must be made in context of overarching processes, Gartner considers the combination of Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Rule Management (BRM) to be a practical synergy that exploits the powers of each discipline in a true 'win-win,'" said David McCoy, Managing Vice President and Gartner Fellow Emeritus. "Combining process-driven actions, and rule-based decisions as peer intellectual assets--and supporting each with powerful underlying technologies within the Business Process Management Suite (BPMS)--is a precursor along the path to an agile and dynamic enterprise IT platform."

DST will exhibit at the Gartner Business Process Management Summit in Baltimore, Md., April 27-29. In addition, Corticon will present at the AWD Advance Conference in Kansas City, Mo., May 2-3. At the AWD Advance conference, current customers will help craft a business rule roadmap by discussing the importance of items such as global workforce optimization and simulation, as well as SaaS offerings such as account on-boarding, document extraction and fraud detection services.

"As business processes become more dynamic, Corticon's rules engine will enable us to deliver more powerful, process-based solutions that enable clients to leapfrog to the next level of business optimization," said John Vaughn, vice president of DST Technologies. "By merging the capabilities of AWD with Corticon's powerful business rules engine, we can together deliver a comprehensive solution set for even the most sophisticated customer need."

"Corticon and DST have similar business philosophies and a shared approach to solving the challenges our customers face every day," said Dr. Mark Allen, president and CEO of Corticon. "With this agreement, we see exciting possibilities for extending our value proposition within the markets we serve."
