Contemporary Controls® Launches NEW Building Automation Web Site

Downers Grove, Illinois (August 29, 2006)-Building automation has been a focus application for Contemporary Controls for more than 20 years with major BAS suppliers, manufacturers, and installers. And change in this industry is gathering speed. With this in mind, Contemporary Controls has launched a NEW building automation web site bringing together the interests of both installers and system integrators. The site's URL address is www.BASAutomation.com. "We provide a web site that offers our Industrial Ethernet-connectivity equipment in order to make it easy to operate a system and allow for system expansion," says Joe Stasiek, Sales Manager. "We have answers to key issues that can't be ignored such as UL 864 switching hubs. We provide material such as the "ABCs of Ethernet" literature that informs you on various topics including managed switches, fiber optics, Ethernet troubleshooting, SNMP and more!"
The information services this audience right from the home page with links including BAS Ethernet switching hubs, media converters, RoHS compliance, and BAS Automation with E-Commerce. Four drop-down menus offer information that is logically grouped in sections-all creating a consistent appearance: About Us, Fundamentals, Support, and Ordering.

For example, under the Fundamentals Menu you'll be linked to an article entitled "Why Use Our Switch." Simply stated, this article says that using retail or office-grade Ethernet equipment in a Building Automation System can have a big negative impact on reliability and project cost.

You'll also find a link to the ARCNET Tutorial for this technology is still viable in building automation. Under the Support Menu, you'll be linked to "Bill's Blog on Industrial Ethernet." Read what Bill Greer, our Senior Product Specialist, has to say about news events, technical concerns, and his experiences with Industrial Ethernet.
"We'll continually update the site to give our audience the most valued information so they can make the right choices for their system," explains Stasiek.
