Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) is offering its compact fiber optic identifier which provides transmission direction, multiple signal frequency identification including 270 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz and a detachable InGaAs detector. It is intended for engineers and technicians to identify dark or live fiber and excessive losses due to misalignment of mechanical splices or poor connections.
This compact fiber optic identifier, model C0230001, employs safe and reliable macro bending technology to avoid the disruption of network communications that would normally be caused due to the need to disconnect or cut the fiber optic cable for identification and testing. With a very small signal loss, normal communications can be maintained while identifying the transmission direction, speed and relative signal strength on its 5-level display.
This portable and simple to use fiber optic identifier offers an available wavelength range of 800 to 1700 nm. It is compatible with multiple adapters including Ö250 µm bare fiber, Ö900 µm tight tube fiber and Ö3 mm pigtail fiber. The identifier has a low-voltage indicator an automatic shutdown when not in use. Its rechargeable lithium battery allows for more than 4 hours of continuous operation.
