Colonial Circuits First to Earn Certification as Qualified Manufacturer to IPC-1071

BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA — IPC’s Validation Services Program has awarded its first IPC-1071 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to Colonial Circuits Inc., a full-service printed board manufacturer in Fredericksburg, Va. The facility underwent an intensive audit based on IPC-1071, Best Industry Practices for Intellectual Property Protection in Printed Board Manufacturing.
Developed as a high-level roadmap to best industry practices for printed board manufacturers, the intellectual property (IP) standard covers physical and information security, employee data access, computer networks, supply chain management, destruction of scrap material and other important issues. Under the QML certification program, Colonial Circuits met the requirements for Level 3 status, an advanced level for military, government and commercial IP and is now listed as an IPC-trusted source. Colonial Circuits and other trusted sources of supply can be found on IPC’s QML database at www.ipcvalidation.org.
