Marietta, OH, September 8, 2011) Caron Products & Services, Inc. broke ground today Thursday, September 8, for a major addition to its current manufacturing and operations facility in Marietta, Ohio. The expansion will double the size of the existing manufacturing area, increase warehouse space, and add R&D lab space and additional offices to accommodate a growing technical staff.
"Caron's new manufacturing facility will be fitted with the latest technology to optimize our implementation of cellular manufacturing," said Dave Figel, Vice President of Engineering and Operations. "Additional improvements in efficiency will allow us to continue to meet customer expectations in terms of providing high quality products at a fair price with short lead times."
Caron acquired its current building in 2000 at a time when its product line consisted of just environmental chambers, chillers and baths. The new expansion is necessary as the company continues to expand its product line with new products, and to ramp up production for the breakthrough, new patent-pending Benchtop GelJacket(TM) CO2 Incubator product line.
"Over the last few years, Caron has focused intensely on developing new products with best-in-class features," said Caron Chairman Steve Keiser. "Despite tough economic conditions, the response from both existing and new customers has been overwhelming. The next step for us is to coordinate our manufacturing systems with the new technologies and designs we now offer."
The new addition will be complete by the end of the year.
"We have been able to keep up with significant sales growth by reorganizing and improving our existing manufacturing space and processes," Figel said. "We are now approaching a point where more space is needed to continue to accommodate orders from our rapidly growing domestic and international customer base."
