Recycles and Filters Cleaning Solution
Chicago, IL - CFR®, which manufactures midsized recycling carpet extractors and other carpet cleaning tools and equipment, has proudly entered its carpet extractor, the ECO-500, into this year's ISSA/TRADESHOW® 2010 Innovation Award Program.
The Innovation Award Program recognizes ground-breaking products and services that benefit the industry, helping to make cleaning easier, healthier, and more environmentally responsible. Industry end users vote for the most innovative products, and this year the voting is being conducted online at issa.com/vote.
The ECO-500 is part of a new generation of continuous recycling machines that will be on display at the ISSA tradeshow.
"We entered the ECO-500 into the Innovation contest because there really is no other machine like it on the market," says Jolynn Kennedy, marketing manager at CFR. "It filters and recycles water and cleaning solution, saving water and boosting worker productivity significantly, making the machine one of the Greenest extractors available."
The ECO-500 passes recovered water and debris through several filtering systems including an in-tank filter with nearly 1,000 square inches of filtering media. Using 500 psi, the solution is then pumped through a wand-mounted final filter. The process allows water and cleaning solution to be used up to seven times.
Kennedy explains that conventional extractors use around one to as many as three gallons of water per minute when cleaning carpets. "This is a huge volume of water that simply is no longer sustainable," she says. "With the ECO-500, this water is recycled and reused."
The ECO-500 can also lessen the amount of time necessary to clean carpets. "According to ISSA's 540 Cleaning Times, a conventional extractor needs to be dumped and refilled up to 21 times to clean 5,000 square feet of carpet. This can take nearly two hours away from actual carpet cleaning. The ECO-500 needs to be dumped just three times."
Voting in the ISSA Innovation Award Program was started in July and continues through September 30, 2010. Winners will be announced at the ISSA tradeshow in November in Orlando, FL.
