BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, - IPC -- Association Connecting Electronics Industries® honored Bob Black, president and CEO of Juki Automation Systems, Inc. with the coveted IPC President's Award at IPC APEX EXPO(TM), April 6, 2010. This prestigious award is presented to IPC members who have exhibited ongoing leadership in IPC and have made significant contributions of their time and talent to the association and the electronics interconnect industry.

Black has nearly 35 years of senior executive management experience in the circuit board and semiconductor industries. He has provided leadership over the past 20 years to the industry and IPC through the IPC/EIA Surface Mount Council, the IPC Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA) steering committee and the IPC APEX Trade Show Subcommittee of which he was a founding member. Black is also a current IPC Board member, serving a four-year term.

Commenting on his involvement with IPC, Black said, "IPC is one of the key structures that hold our electronics industry together. No other group represents such a wide range of participants in electronics - EMS providers, OEMs, circuit fabricators, designers, equipment manufacturers and government organizations. All have a place at the IPC table. Where better to invest your time than an organization so key to the past and future success of electronics? It has been a real privilege for me to be a member and participate in several IPC committees and councils over the years. I have certainly received many returns on the time I have invested in IPC activities."

Grateful to have Bob contributing his time and expertise to IPC's Board, technical committees and standards development, IPC President & CEO Denny McGuirk said, "Bob's contributions have enriched both our organization and the industry. IPC and the entire electronic interconnect industry are fortunate to have his leadership and we hope he continues to share his time and knowledge for many years to come."
