ALBANY, NY (Aug. 14) - Mr. Les Lak has been appointed Vice President of Operations and Systems, reporting to David Bobrek, President of Blasch Precision Ceramics, Inc. Lak had previously been President of LB Industries, Hudson City, NY, and Sonoco-Crellin, in Chatham, NY.
Lak will be responsible for Blasch's overall Operations including plant and process engineering, maintenance, production training, systems development for scheduling, and material resource planning.
"Lak's 30+ years of production and operational experience in manufacturing environments will be a great asset to our team at Blasch," according to Bobrek. "We are now into our fourth consecutive year of double digit growth and as we grow, the need to formalize and automate our systems becomes paramount to our future success," Bobrek said.
Lak has BS and MS degrees in Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute, now University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Founded in 1979, Blasch Precision Ceramics, Inc., an employee-owned company, produces precision ceramic shapes for a variety of global industries, including the petro-chemical industry, power generation, gas and oil refineries, and the aerospace investment castings market.
