Press release date: January 22, 2013

Woman-owned manufacturer took first place in the motion control category by popular vote

Pittsburg, CA - Bishop-Wisecarver Corporation, a motion control component and system manufacturer of the original DualVee® guide wheel, announced today that it was voted by readers to receive Design World's Leadership in Engineering Award for the Motion Control category. The year-long vote featured 11 different categories, with 46 companies in the Motion Control section.

The publication's annual edition, show-casing contest winners, is one of the most desirable issues from the readers' perspectives, says Design World Regional Sales Manager Suren Sagadevan. In addition to Motion Control, the categories were Advanced Materials, Digital Manufacturing, Electrical/Electronics, Fastening and Joining, Fluid Power, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Switches and Sensors, Software, and Test and Measurement.

"It gives companies a chance to tell our readers why they are leaders in their respective fields," Sagadevan says. Winners were chosen by Design World online users via a registration-based online voting system.

"To be recognized as a leader by Design World's audience is a great honor," said Pamela Kan, president of Bishop-Wisecarver Group. "We have a strong company culture focused on being our customer's first choice, and I believe this award is a reflection of our dedication to providing tailored solutions with best in class reliability and responsiveness."

The second generation owned company has expanded its services and capabilities, and offers a family of companies who work with manufacturers to engineer, manufacture, and build custom sub-assemblies, linear and rotary motion products, and optimal embedded intelligence systems.

"As we head into the future," adds Kan, "the Bishop-Wisecarver Group is returning to its roots with a renewed focus on solving design and engineering challenges through the integration of mechanical, electrical, software, control and systems design engineering expertise."
