BSA Hosts Successful 2012 Fall Meeting in Chicago

Glen Ellyn, IL—The Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) welcomed 63 industry professionals last week to its 2012 Fall Meeting September 24-25 at the Hilton Suites Chicago-Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to pursuing the regular work of the BSA Board of Directors and Committees, the 2012 Fall Meeting was co-located with the ABMA fall event, offering attendees additional networking and educational opportunities. For those individuals who regularly attend both meetings, the co-located events also simplified travel and time away from the office. The co-location was so successful for attendees, that plans are being considered to do this again.

BSA’s Information Technology and Supply Chain Committee also invited all Fall Meeting attendees to an excellent presentation by Susan Streich, National Sales Manager of IDEA e-solutions about their data synchronization solutions for business. IDEA was founded in 1998 as a partnership of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association to establish industry standards and provide the most cost effective e-business solutions for distributors and manufacturers in the electrical channel.  It currently handles the Industry Data Warehouse (IDW) for the electrical industry. The IDW warehouse stores electrical product item details that are managed and supplied by electrical manufacturers and gives distributors the ability to download product and pricing information on demand.

Traditionally, BSA Fall and Winter Meetings provide an unprecedented opportunity to network with industry peers, experience the work of the committees with no obligation to join the committee, see how participation can influence the direction of the industry, and learn how participation on a committee can benefit individuals personally and improve their company's position in the marketplace.  The BSA 2013 Winter Meeting is planned for January 27-29 at Loews Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. BSA will host the 2013 Annual Convention May 3 – 7 at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

BSA is the “must belong to organization for authorized bearing distributors.” An international service and educational organization of distributors representing a total of almost 100 companies distributing factory-warranted, anti-friction bearings and invited manufacturers of bearings and related products, the association’s mission says, “BSA is the forum to enhance networking and knowledge sharing and promote the sale of bearings through authorized distributors.” For more information on BSA, contact the BSA office at (630) 858-3838; fax (630) 790-3095; email info@bsahome.org or visit the association website at www.bsahome.org.
