BSA Program Looks at What's Hot and What's Not in 2013 Recovery

Glen Ellyn, IL—The Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) will welcome Dr. Bruce Yandle, Professor of Economics Emeritus, Clemson University, and Dean Emeritus of Clemson’s College of Business & Behavioral Science, to the podium on Sunday, May 5th to keynote the business program at its 2013 Annual Convention.

Yandle’s presentation, “America's Uneven Prosperity: What's Hot and What's Not,” will take a look at the global economy and then focus on the situation for the U.S. economy. He will consider industries, regions, and states in a search for what's hot, what's not, and what's critically important to the success of bearing distributors. Along the way, he will forecast for U.S. sectors, regions, and industries. Yandle is a fitting introduction to the broader convention theme, “We’re all in this to win,” because he will be helping attendees identify where that winning potential is.

Prior to entering an academic career in 1967, Yandle was associated with Bearings & Drives, Inc. for 15 years where he worked his way from truck driver and bookkeeper to vice president in charge of the firm’s Atlanta region.  He offers both an intimate understanding of the industry and a unique perspective on its recovery. Yandle has lectured in graduate programs in France, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic and is a Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Economics with George Mason University’s Capitol Hill Campus, all contributing to his understanding of global economics, a key asset for the top-level leaders in the global bearing industry.

Yandle is just one of a full roster of experts poised to help bearing industry leaders who are “in this to win ” arm themselves with the right information and tools to make the most profitable steps in 2013 and beyond.

BSA’s 2013 Annual Convention is May 4-7 at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa in Hilton Head, South Carolina. “We’re All in This to Win” features an outstanding lineup of speakers selected to help attendees move their companies to the winners circle in the recovering economy. The BSA Annual Convention is the only industry event that brings together the top leadership of authorized bearing distributors and manufacturers. As such, it offers unparalleled networking opportunities along with a business program tailored for the industry leadership who attend.  For additional information, please visit the convention website, www.bsaconventions.org.

BSA is the “must belong to organization for authorized bearing distributors.” An international service and educational organization of distributors representing a total of almost 100 companies distributing factory-warranted, anti-friction bearings and invited manufacturers of bearings and related products, the association’s mission says, “BSA is the forum to enhance networking and knowledge sharing and promote the sale of bearings through authorized distributors.” For more information on BSA, contact the BSA office at (630) 858-3838; fax (630) 790-3095; email info@bsahome.org or visit the association website at www.bsahome.org.
